I spent over 15 years as a high school teacher. I had an occassional massage during that time, but was not a regular. In 2006 I dated a massage therapist, got to know his friends, and attended a Body Electric workshop. After learning just how powerful and healing touch can be, I decided to go to massage school. I graduated in April 2009 and immediately started a massage business with a classmate. About a week after graduation I also started working at Cortiva School of Massage assisting in classes and am now teaching Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology classes. During my time in massage school I had exposure to Lomi Lomi massage. I found I really like it. So in March 2010 I attended a week long Lomi Lomi massage intensive workshop in Hawaii to further build my massage skills. After a change in business structure, I have now stepped out on my own.
Besides loving massage, I enjoy time with friends, cooking, concerts, travel, and outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and cross-country skiing. I am involved with the groups OutVentures and Ski Buddies, for which I am president this year. I am also a member of the Gay & Lesbian Medical Association.
*My massage may include Lomi Lomi, Swedish, neuromuscular, myofascial, and/or deep tissue techniques.

W. Michael Rogers PsyD, PLLC
My theoretical orientation/approach to therapy is best described as integrative in nature. I draw upon a variety of therapy modalities (e.g., Psychodynamic/Interpersonal/Object Relations; Narrative; Systems; Feminist; Acceptance & Commitment Therapy). The therapy modality with the biggest influence upon the work that I do is Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. In my practice, however, I utilize the method of “best fit” when considering the type of modality/interventions to use. Individuals, their needs & goals are unique and “fluid;” it makes sense therefore, that the type of therapy modality considered be equally flexible.
Specialty areas:
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR; information)
- Depression
